Faith.

Formed by faith in truth.

In 2014, Pope Francis expressed his firm belief that parents should have the right to choose a “moral and religious education” for their children. He pointed out that in today’s ever-changing, technological world, young people are bombarded with so much information that it’s difficult to filter through it.

At Saint Peter’s we believe in educating the mind, body and soul. Simply put, we strive to provide a stable and supportive environment in which students not only achieve good grades, but also practice all of the core values and Gospel truths that will lead to both personal and professional success.

Faith is present in all aspects of College life as we guide pupils to critical thinking; we strive towards each pupil growing in confidence to set the world alight by their zeal for Christ.

We are formed, just as in a family, by good example, regular practice and open hearts. By establishing Faith and prayer as ordinary aspects of our daily life we seek to cultivate values of compassion and faithfulness, challenging our pupils to respond positively to whatever God calls them to be.

The primary mission of Saint Peter’s is to allow students to "encounter the living God who in Jesus Christ reveals his transforming love and truth" (Pope Benedict XVI).  In order to achieve this we have set three objectives:

- to provide an environment for pupils to build and deepen a personal relationship with God;

- to foster an academic culture aimed at the pursuit of Truth;

- and to actively promote personal growth in Virtue.

We believe in what we call "virtue-oriented" formation. Our educational endeavour is guided by a constant promotion of the virtues, especially the Cardinal Virtues of Prudence, Justice, Fortitude and Temperance. No matter how strong the faith of a person might be, without a certain degree of practice in the virtues, it will be hard not to be led exclusively by the emotions and impressions that cloud our judgement.

Our Catholic Faith permeates our common life. Pupils and staff pray, work and eat together. We recognise that our pupils will be formed by both the lived example of their peers as well as the best approach in the classroom.
